Morgan's review article about photomixotrophic chemical production has been published in Current Opinion in Biotechnology. Prof. Filipe Branco dos Santos (U Amsterdam) visted us and gave a seminar (11/15/2017).

William joins the lab as a rotation student from MGG. Austin gave a chalk talk at the DEB Pizza Talk Series (10/23/2017).

September 2017

Carl joins the lab as a rotation student from MGG. Jake joins the lab as a rotation student from PBGG. Austin gave a presentation at 2017 chemical biology program retreat (9/15/2017). Angela was selected for 2017 NIH T32 training program trainee.

August 2017

Beili, Faatimah, Jacinto, and Long completed the ACS Project SEED program 2017. Angela's review article has been accepted for publication in FEMS Microbiology Letters.

July 2017

Shota gave a special lecture at Hokkaido University (7/24-27/17). Nicole, Anna & Austin's paper has been accepted for publication in ACS Synthetic Biology. Shota presented his invited talk at 2nd International Solar Fuels Conference (7/6-10/2017, San Diego).

June 2017

Lab party 2017 summer Shota presented his invited talk and served on the organizing committee at 7th International Conference on Algal Biomass, Biofuels & Bioproducts (6/18-21/2017, Miami, FL). Anna did a chalk talk at the DEB pizza talk (May 22, 2017). Austin presented his research at Chemical Biology in the Bay Area Day (May 20, 2017).  Kelly gave oral presentation at 2017 Richard Larock Undergraduate Research Conference (May 20, 2017).

Anna presented her research in the Bio-Based Products section at 253rd ACS national meeting (April 3, 2017).

March  2017

Nicole, Anna, and Austin presented their results and Shota gave a talk at the 17th Annual R. Bryan Miller symposium (March 16-17, 2017). Masahiro and Austin's paper has been published in Nature Communications. This work was highlighted in the UCD blog, egghead. Austin gave his 3rd year semina (3/10/17). Shota joined the editorial board of Microbial Cell Factories as an Associate Editor.

February  2017

Nicole and Anna presented our technology at the APRA-E summit (2/26-3/1/2017). Luis joins the lab as a BMCDB rotation student. Shota attended the ARPA-E REMOTE annual PI meeting (Houston, Tx, 2/15-16/2017). Shota gave a seminar at Biomolecular Science and Engineering, UC Santa Barbara (2/1/2017).
