How to Apply

1. Submit Graduate Studies Application on-line by the January 15 deadline.

2. Application fee required (see application for amount).

2. Send official transcripts from all institutions attended beyond high school to Chemistry Graduate Affairs Office.

3. Names of recommenders will be requested in the online application. Do not have your recommenders send any documents to the program.

5. Have any applicable test reports sent electronically to the Office of Gradute Studies, UC Davis (i.e. GRE, TOFEL). Please use 4834 as Institution code and 301 as Department code.


Admission Prerequisites

- BS or BA in Chemistry or related Field

- Minimum B Average in undergraduate coursework

- Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and Chemistry Subject Test score reports
(will not be considered for fellowship funding without General GRE)

- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score report of at least 600 (paper test), 250 (computer test) or 100 (IBT).

In order to be competitive in the application process please follow the tips below

- Start Early

- Highlight your undergraduate research experience.

- Check out the websites of UC Davis chemistry faculty who are doing research that you are interested in.

- Make sure your application is complete and correct.

- Follow up on your application materials to make sure all items have been received.

- Provide your recommenders with information they need to know about you so they can write a good recommendation.

- Save all correspondence from UC Davis and make sure you keep your contact information up-to-date with our office.
