Professional Update
I am starting my 27th year on the UC Davis faculty. Yes…that makes me one of the old guys! The current Kurth Group focuses on heterocyclic and combinatorial chemistry. We do both solution and solid phase chemistry and we’re trying pretty hard to apply one-bead one-compound technology to the discovery of inhibitors (alpha-beta integrins, chorismate-utilizing enzymes, and aldose reductase).
Personal Update
Laurie is the head secretary at Willett Elementary school (1 block from our house). Jennifer is getting her PhD in educational psychology from UC Davis (June 2008 graduation if things go as planned). Dan is a graduate of Sacramento State University and manages a sporting goods store in Roseville, Ca. Tom graduated from UC Berkeley and is hoping to go to graduate school in History. Jeff will graduate from UC Davis as a psychology major in December 2007.
