Our research is on the interface of synthetic inorganic chemistry and physical chemistry. Most of our projects involve chemical assembly of nanostructures from inorganic nanomaterials (nanospheres, nanosheets, and nanowires). The resulting nanostructures function as optical waveguides, chemical sensors, photocatalysts, and magnetic actuators. Currently the group focuses on nanostructures for chemical sensing and renewable energy applications.
